On the eve of Bastille Day celebrations, it seems appropriate to announce that Marie Antoinette will be hosting a ‘Let Them Eat Cake’ stall to fundraise for Maitland Regional Museum this Sunday 16th July. The event kicks off at 2pm at Brough House, next door to Pender Place in Maitland. Many fine cakes will be on offer, with a delightful afternoon tea in the Brough House gardens, and a talk by Professor Philip Dwyer, author of an award winning biography of Napoleon. Here’s a nice story by Sage Swinton of the Maitland Mercury, photo courtesy of Marina, who also brought cakes for the photoshoot. Tickets are $12.00, $10.00 concession, and available from maitlandrmuseum(at)gmail.com
