This photo is part of The Night of The Iguana exhibition which opens at The Newsagency Gallery, Sydney, on Friday night. The exhibition is a homage to Iggy Pop, so called Godfather of punk, and was organised by Julien Poulson of The Cambodian Space Project. Photographer Lizz Mackenzie shot Marie Antoinette in a derelict warehouse in Hexham, standing aloft a much abused, burnt out car. I like the way it speaks to the emotional landscape of punk: anger, frustration, humor, explosion and catharsis. We’ve titled it ‘Marie Antoinette strikes back’.
